Ruaha National Park

Overlooking the Great Ruaha River, the Lodge is built from local stone
and thatch blending well into the natural surroundings. Accommodation
comprises of individual rondavels with screened windows to allow a pleasant
breeze and for protection against the few mosquito around the Lodge.
The Lodge is split into three individual camps, each with a private
dining and a bar. The camps comprise of 7 to 9 bandas each; most with
private bathroom facilities and a verandah.
mwagusi safari camp
Mwagusi Safari Camp, situated in the northern part of the park and nestled
on the banks of the Mwagusi Sand River has 16 beds. The tents are enclosed
within thatched bandas, each with en suite bathroom and hot shower.
jongomero
camp
Located on the banks of the Jongomero River (seasonal) in the remote
South Western part of Ruaha National Park, Jongomero Camp comprises
of 8 large luxurious tents on raised wooden platforms offering double,
twin and single accommodation. Other features include bedside tables
and bedside lights; bathroom area with large shower, contained in the
tent; solar heated running hot water; spacious private verandah; 24
hours electricity. The public area including bar and restaurant, is
beautifully located in the deep shade of an ancient riverine tree with
an uninterrupted view of the Jongomero River and bush beyond.
MDONYO OLD RIVER CAMP
In Ruaha
National Park, the second largest in Tanzania and a few kilometres from
the Mdonya Falls. A two hour exciting game drive from the airstrip,
this camp, in its simplicity lets you feel absorbed in forest life.
The tents are located on the banks of Old Mdonya, now a sand river and
which wildlife like to use as a corridor in the wilderness. Best way
of getting here ? By aircraft from Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar, or by
road via Iringa.Scattered under the shade of large sycamore figs and
Acacia Albida, there are only 8 twin bedded tents, each with its own
toilette and shower. The tents are simple but comfortable, furnished
with twin beds veiled by mosquito net and with a large verandah where
you can relax on a chaise lounge to observe the wildlife around you. |
