Ngorongoro sopa lodge
The
Lodge is located on Lemala hill on the uppermost, eastern
rim of the Ngorongoro crater, a World Heritage Site
in the volcanic highlands of northern Tanzania.
The Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is and will remain as the only tourist
development on the eastern rim of the crater and thus
offers our guests unique and spectacular views down
into the crater floor and of the sunsets over the western
horizon.
Another
major advantage of this site that our guests can enjoy
is the fact that their crater safari begins within five
minutes of leaving the lodge.

GIBBS FARM
The
Lodge offers 20 twin rooms with ensuite bathrooms, set
among the gardens. In the last few years we have built
new rooms. Two are linked making them ideal for families.
All our rooms retain the charm of their unique garden
setting. In cooler evenings, relax by the fireside,
but most of the time you will want to be outside, enjoying
the gardens, the view or the night sky. When you are
ready, come in for dinner.

ngorongoro wildlife lodge
Located
on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, Ngorongoro
Wildlife Lodge affords unsurpassed views over the crater's
great bowl. Its 75 rooms are centrally heated, and the
lounge features a fireplace and panoramic windows which
give on to a terrace serving as an observation deck
for the crater below. The lodge is a 3-hour drive from
Arusha, and 90 minutes from Lake Manyara. Ngorongoro
offers the opportunity of viewing an amazing variety
of wild animal life in a concentrated area. With its
unforgettable blue-tinted slopes, swampy grassland,
lakes, rivers, woodlands and hills, Ngorongoro supports
such an amazing variety of animal life, it's as if Noah's
Ark foundered here. This veritable Garden of Eden is
home to ostrich, wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland,
warthog, long-eared fox, jackal, hyena, lion, cheetah
and the very rare black rhino...in all, some 30,000
animals inhabit the crater.
ngorongoro serena safari lodge
Perched
on the jagged rim of the crater, wreathed in morning
mist, camouflaged in river-stone and cloaked in indigenous
creepers, the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is a triumph
of ecological and architectural fusion. It is the ideal
base to visit the Crater or neighboring Olduvai Gorge
"the cradle of mankind". Most private rooms
have terraces overlooking the crater itself. Sensitively
constructed so as to take nothing from its environment
whilst affording endless vistas over the heat-shimmering
reaches of the crater below, the clustered boulder-built
buildings of the Lodge hug the crater rim, linked by
rope-lashed timber walkways that skirt the buttressed
roots of ancient, liana-hung trees.
plantation
lodge
Plantation
Lodge is located in the Ngorongoro highlands next to
the small town of Karatu and is about midway between
Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater. The lodge is
situated just outside the southern edge of the Ngorongoro
Conservation Area. A 45-minute drive up the crater highlands
to the north takes you to the rim of the Ngorongoro
Crater. If you head south from the lodge, you could
be at the Lake Manyara park gate in about 30 minutes.
The Plantation
Lodge is our top pick for accommodations
in the Lake Manyara area. The property, rooms and gardens
are wonderfully unique and stunningly beautiful. This
place is so well regarded that many couples choose to
get married under the postcard perfect terrace (pictured
bottom right) followed by a convenient safari and perhaps
a few nights on a tropical beach in Zanzibar. A night
at Plantation Lodge is a splendid addition to any safari
itinerary and is an excellent choice during any month
of the year.
marera safari tented lodge
Marera is conveniently located along the Arusha-Ngorongoro
road about 4km off road and just a short distance from
Karatu town. It’s a great stop-over for anybody wishing
to visit Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Lake Eyasi,
or Serengeti. The hot lunches are delicious and great
value. The setting around the gardens is relaxing and
a welcome break from any long-haul drive. Each tent
has its own private balcony that looks out on to the
unspoilt views beyond. Lush forests that surround Marera
are filled with bird-life and as nightfall draws nearer,
the unearthly cries of hyena drift through the camp.
Exchange stories of the day’s discoveries and natural
wonders as you relax around the campfire, before retiring
for the evening.

kifaru lodge
Kifaru Lodge is located nearby the town of Karatu, about
40 minutes drive from the Ngorongoro Crater. The owners
have converted their coffee farm into a guesthouse but
still maintain coffee production. The place is very
small and personal with fantastic views of the cascading
valleys below and the coffee fields. The accommodation
consists of houses located around the main property
and gives you the feel of staying with a wealthy farmer. If
you want a very personal touch to your safari then the
place is recommended.
ngorongoro farm house
Located
in the Ngorongoro Highlands, the farm is only minutes
from the Ngorongoro Crater entrance gate. Ten spacious
luxury bungalows are each decorated in an original colonial
style, complete with private baths. Additional facilities
include a swimming pool and two dining areas. The 500
acre working farm on the slopes of the crater features
a 6 acre organic vegetable garden which not only supplies
the lodge, but many other lodges and our mobile camp
operations throughout the northern Tanzania. Enjoy fresh
roasted coffee from the on site 15 acre coffee plantation.
The farm also has home grown pigs, free range chickens,
ducks, rabbit, lamb and milk cows. These fresh foods
are combined with the fish imported from the coast enabling
us to serve up abundant, fresh, organic cuisine.
