Standing
at the foot of Mount Meru in Arusha town, a few miles from Kilimanjaro
International Airport, the Mount Meru Hotel is without doubt the ideal
starting point for safaris to the National parks in the north of Tanzania.
The hotel offers 168 rooms overlooking the swimming pool and the Gymkhana
golf course to the south and majestic Mount Meru standing at 4572 metres
to the north, all fitted with private bathroom, television and telephone.
The hotel has a coffee shop, bar and shops.
THE IMPALA HOTEL
Situated only a kilometre from the Arusha city centre, Impala Hotel
is an ideal base for both business and holiday visitors. The hotel offers
160 rooms, all with en suite bathrooms. The hotel has three main restaurants
serving continental, Italian, Chinese, Indian and African cuisine. Other
facilities include direct dial telephone, room-to-room connection, laundry
and dry cleaning, Internet café, secretarial bureau, conference
halls, Bureau de Change, gift shop, and a swimming pool.
The Arusha Hotel
Situated in the centre of Arusha town,
the tourist capital of Tanzania, this historical hotel was first built
in 1927 by an American coffee farmer. Recently the hotel has undergone
extensive refurbishment and modernization to provide international travelers
with services and facilities equal to a five star hotel.
The Arusha Hotel offers 65 en suite bedrooms with 2 executive suites
and a variety of single, double and inter-leading family rooms. All
rooms have direct dial telephone, Internet connection, television and
room safes. The hotel has 4 conference rooms, one of them accommodating
up to 150 persons.
HOTEL EQUATOR
Hotel equator, situated in the city centre of Arusha with a commanding
view of Themi River, is ideal for both a business and holiday visitor.
Hotel Equator has 24 spacious guest rooms with bath and shower, restaurant,
bar, and conference facilities.
The Mountain Village Lodge
Nestling in a well-maintained coffee estate, with great views of Mount
Meru (4572m) and Mount Kilimanjaro (5895m) on clear days, Mountain Village
Lodge is the perfect location before setting out to explore Tanzania.
It is just 10 minutes drive from Arusha town and 30 minutes from Kilimanjaro
International Airport. The Lodge consists of 42 round cottages, most
of them facing Lake Duluti, with newly refurbished rooms. Every room
has a private bathroom with shower, all redone in new tiles in the recently
completed renovation. Major renovations included
complete rebuilding of the main public area, the restaurant, bar and
the reception.
Arusha coffee lodge
Arusha Coffee Lodge is located about 10 km from Arusha town centre,
adjacent to Redds Restaurant, both managed by Halcyon Tanzania. The
Lodge is set amidst coffee trees and tall wind-break trees, creating
an ambience of a country house, and has 21 rooms, all with en suite
bathrooms, mini bar, tea & coffee making facilities, ceiling fans,
fireplaces, telephones and hair dryers.
MOIVARO LODGE
Situated in the midst of tropical trees and a coffee plantation, only
07 km from Arusha, Moivaro Lodge has a total of 24 rooms, all with en
suite bathrooms and own verandah. You can enjoy the swimming pool, relax
between the coffee plants or walk and jog around the 40 acres estate.
The Lodge has a restaurant and bar.

NGURDOTO lodge
Located on the foot of Mount Meru in a 140 acre coffee estate, about
30 kms from Kilimanjaro airport and Arusha town. The lodge has
a total of 139 guest rooms set out in three different grounds.
These include 60 rooms in 30 individual cottages each with two suites,
one on the ground floor and the other on the first floor. The
suites have a mini living room,bedroom, a fireplace, a shower and a
personal mini jacuzzi. The main building, which also houses restaurants,
internet cafe, curio shop, secretarial services and three conference
halls, offers 72 en-suite guest rooms. Situated away from the cottages
and the main building, is a cluster of 07 presidential suites with
private check-in facilities and an exclusive presidential club facility
for the suit residents. The Lodge has a big swimming pool, a sauna,
and a wide range of sports facilities including a lawn tennis court, table
tennis, volleyball, children amusement park, and an 18-hole golf
course which is expected to be ready for use early next year 2005.
ARUMERU RIVER LODGE
This magnificent new lodge is spread over 12 acres (ca. 50,000
sq.m.) of beautifully landscaped gardens and natural African bushland,
bordering on a river lined with precious large old trees. Arumeru River
Lodge was built on the site of an old coffee farm and is situated only
700 m. south of the main Arusha - Moshi road, just a 35 minutes drive
from Kilimanjaro International Airport and 15 minutes away from the
town of Arusha. This exclusive resort with its particular African charm is
now open to welcome guests. It is our aim to offer our guests comfortable
luxurious accommodation, personalised service, great attention to detail,
excellent international and local African cuisine and an inviting homely
atmosphere.
KIA LODGE
The Lodge is situated in the shadows of mount Kilimanjaro only a few
minutes drive from the Airport. The Lodge is the first introduction
to Tanzania where you can find friendly service, Zanzibar style at the
reception, Makonde woodcarvings in the rooms and the famous Tinga Tinga
paintings in our tropical restaurant.
Located on a secluded hill, minutes drive from Kilimanjaro International
Airport. It has 40 rooms self-contained, Air Conditioned rooms, Excellent
Restaurant, Open bar with view of Mount Kilimanjaro. A Swimming pool
on top of the hill with an outstanding 360 " panoramic view of Mount
Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru and a Business Centre.
MOUNT MERU GAME LODGE
Nestled between the peaks of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro,
Mount Meru Game Lodge & Sanctuary lies midway between Kilimanjaro
International Airport and Arusha. The Lodge is located within 33 acres
of mature, well manicured gardens bounded on one side by the tranquil
waters of the Usa River and on the other by the Animal Sanctuary where
our resident animals and birds live out their lives in peace. This wildlife
provides many of our guests with their first exciting game viewing experience.
Access to the Lodge and Sanctuary is entirely by tarmac road making
the journey to the lodge all the more pleasant for the weary traveller.
KARAMA LODGE
The
lodge is set on the side of one of Arusha's characteristic volcanic
hills and as you look out over the beautiful valley with views of Meru
and Kilimanjaro behind, it is hard to believe that you are so close
to town. This nice little
lodge is a reasonable lower cost option in Arusha. There are presently 12 rooms,
all with twin beds that can be made up as doubles, en-suite bathrooms
and private verandah. We preferred the rooms lower
down on the slope because the verandahs are more private. The rooms
are quite stylish in an environmental kind of way, but guests should
be aware that the structure is quite open to the elements and insects,
so earplugs and net-tucking are recommended for the faint-hearted.
RIVER TREES COUNTRY INN
We are located near the village of Usa-River, a twenty-minute
drive from Arusha along the Moshi Road. Kilimanjaro Airport is a mere
twenty minutes away with daily connections to Europe and beyond.
Rivertrees,
nestled between Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, in natural gardens along
the Usa River. Rivertrees
is also a popular 'stepping stone' with mountain hikers and climbers
alike. The altitude at River Trees (approximately 1,150M above sea level)
is perfect to acclimatize for Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru - just a stone
throw away!
NGARE SERO MOUNTAIN LODGE
Ngare
Sero Mountain Lodge is an old colonial style lodge in a unique setting,
overlooking the lake and beautiful indigenous forest on the slopes of
Mount Meru. The Lodge, which is close to Arusha National Park
and only 30 minutes from Kilimanjaro International Airport, is the ideal
base for a safari. The snows of Kilimanjaro form a splendid backdrop
and a sundowner on the verandah while watching the changing colours
of the glaciers is an unforgettable experience.
HATARI LODGE
Hatari Lodge is situated at an altitude
above 5.000 ft on the northern edge of Arusha National Park, with
its unspoilt views of lakes and craters, its magical rain forests, and
the 4,566 metre high dormant volcano Mount Meru. It is a traditional
farm buildings, which were used by the legendary actor Hardy Krüger.
